As part of the cultural programme, the worldOutgames are hosting a Choral Festival. This will be held from 7 till 9 August.
 
We aim to have a large diversity of LGBT choirs and we offer them a platform to show their colour and add sound to the worldOutgames.
 
Each choir will be invited to present itself during an open afternoon session on 7 or 8 August. A professional jury will select six choirs that can advance to the next round. During that round all 6 choirs have to perform on Friday evening 9 August with the same or another repertoire of choice. Three prizes will be awarded:
·         Best musical performance
·         Most original repertoire
·         Best presentation
 
With these prizes we wish to emphasize musicality, diversity and fun. In addition to these three prizes a public's favourite will be selected.
 
Besides the Choral Festival selection rounds, each choir will be offered a free stage at the Rainbow Village and during other worldOutgames events.
 
All participating choirs will be expected to prepare one common performance and perform the worldOutgames theme song during the closing night of the Choral Festival and the closing ceremony. We'll send you the scores of the two common pieces 4 months in advance.

Practical information

All choirs wishing to participate need to download the choir application form below. Fill it in as completely as possible (note: there are 2 Excel sheets!) and return it by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it before 18 November 2012. Once you have e-mailed your choir form, you will receive an e-mail with payment info, which you can use during your payment if your choir is selected to participate.

A preliminary selection will be made as there is only room for 15 choirs. The selection will be made to achieve the maximum diversity of gender, genre and origin. The final selection will be announced on 14 December 2012. The selected choirs need to finalize and pay their registration before 31 January 2013.

Although these dates have expired, you can still apply for a place in the choir festival by returning the application form!

Please note that the choir festival fee is 10 euro pp. This comes on top of your WOGA experience payment of 129 euro, which makes that your total payment for the worldOutgames + choir festival is 139 euro.
